PROJECT UNIQUE 71 • Italian design studio SkyStyle and Denison Yacht created a distinctive 233’ (71 m) concept mega yacht. The 71m Concept Unique is exclusively available as a new construction opportunity with Denison. SkyStyle is a design studio based in the US, Spain, and Argentina focusing on advanced aviation conceptual design.

NZ MARINE INDUSTRY ON A ROLL • The NZ Marine recently released a snapshot of the New Zealand marine industry for 2021 which indicates an industry on the move. Despite nearly two years of Covid-19, border closures and lockdowns, the industry is experiencing a boom period.

OUT OF CONTROL FUEL PRICES • Fuel prices are just out of control. They were crazy before Russia’s meddling, despite a little Jacinda fuel tax relief, some of the tax off, some of the already overly taxed fuel prices. (Strangely, the week after the current government dropped below their rivals in the popularity poll).

LEGACY LAUNCH FIRST 70 • Legacy Marine have launched the first model in a range of high-end aluminium motor yachts in their home port of Whakatane. Established by the owners of Extreme Boats, Legacy Marine have four models in the range from the L35 right up to the flagship L70 (pictured) to cater for those wishing to travel further and spend longer on the water.

THIRD GENERATION TAIATINI POWERBOAT CHAMPION • Dani Taiatini, granddaughter of powerboat legend Ted Taiatini and daughter of powerboat champion Mark Taiatini has added another championship to the family trophy cabinet.

INTEGRITY RECORD BIGGEST YEAR EVER • The year is already well underway, and Australian builder Integrity have affirmed that 2022 will mark another great year for the Integrity boating family.

ILIAD 53 SPORT ANNOUNCED • On the back of its remarkable success since the company’s launch in 2019, ILIAD Catamarans has just announced its latest model, the ILIAD 53S. RIVIERA 78 TO SHOWCASE AT SCIBS • Australia’s luxury motor yacht builder, Riviera, is preparing for an expansive showcase at the 2022 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show beginning on May 19, led by its majestic new flagship 78 Motor Yacht as the centrepiece of Riviera’s only exhibition in Australia for 2022.

TREVOR GELDARD RIP • I was saddened to hear of the passing of industry stalwart, Trevor Geldard at the age of 89.
