what are you excited to celebrate this year?
IN VOGUE • Meaningful connections, masterful collaborations.
PATTERN PARADE • This season, the unbound spirit is reframed in colorful expressions. A heady dose of hyper-saturated lines and mesmerizing geometrics, give quiet dresses and stately coats a rebellious edge. Julia Heuer from Paris, Ulla Johnson from New York, Del Core from Milan and TieDiet from Cebu, brands show off their colorful credentials in one-of a kind craftsmanship. Case in point: each Shibori (a Japanese manual tie-dyeing technique) pleat in Julia Heuer's dress is applied with a thread constricted, centimeter by centimeter, around a tube creating distinctive patterns, unique to Heuer's design. Go ahead, choose your graphic content.
MATERIAL WORLD • There is power to pieces that disregard regulated lines. Self crafted fabrication and manipulated surfaces leave a maximal impression that blur art and fashion. From China, Raxxy's lilac quilted puffer reinterprets the winter jacket in a blown up puzzle of squares, rectangles and triangles that incredibly fit together. From Ukraine, Dzhus’ multi-pocketed t-square dress is at once strong and structural. Ivan Delogu from the United Kingdom used up-cycled ‘70s mosquito curtains weaved together to create a gravity-defying dress that undulates, creating an unexpected shift dress silhouette.
Hot SPOT • Polka dots will never date. Seek out pieces in graphic black and white to be instantly spot on.
