Time for a movie marathon • Whether you’re heading to the cinema or want to Netflix and chill, add these to your must-watch list
Get lit
Hey, remember that time Lindsay Lohan was in a band? • To create the iconic Pink Slip in Freaky Friday, she rehearsed three times a week. But it almost didn’t happen. On its 20th(!) anniversary, the cast and crew detail how the generation-defining film got made

Eight ways Love Actually would be different if it was released in 2023 • The octopus stays, though
You’re about to be all over Ed McVey • Say hello to The Crown’s answer to Prince William at uni
Jingle belles • Step into Christmas… and NYE… and literally any festive occasion with this season’s sparkliest beauty trends
Face access is a privilege • Nothing to see here, just a matching nail-veil situation that’s radically cool in a you-don’t-follow-trends-you-set-them kind of way. Keep things simple(ish) with a press-on mani (we love the Kiss set, see right) and a claw clip that holds your hair and this vampy net headpiece in place.
Meet the eyeshadow stack • We’re going to skip the part where we convince you to try it (because… see right), although it is super easy and also iconic. All you need is two creamy pencils – we recommend Fenty Beauty’s Flypencils in Lady Lagoon (see below) and Bad Bride. Trace one above the other from your lash lines up to your brows.
Give your dress a run for its money • They used to say take one thing off before you walk out the door, for the ~subtlety~, but 2023 doesn’t have subtle vibes, does it? Go big and go big – wear the giant pearl hair grips.
You cannot resist the bow • Either because they’re just too pretty – especially in a half up, half down Bardot moment like this one – or because we won’t let you. They work on topknots, ponytails and low buns, too. Pro tip: secure the base of a bow with a few kirby grips to prevent it from slipping off or coming undone.
Bubble ponies for president • Your hair is just as worthy of bangles as your wrists are. Start by getting a few packs of braiding hair or clip-in extensions to beef up your pony. Then you’ll also need some clear elastics to create the bubble segments, plus shiny bracelets to layer over them.
One last (extremely chic) thing • Yeah, it’s bejewelled hairslides, obviously. Cluster them above one ear and throw on a set of matching earrings, too. Best believe… you’ll make the whole place shimmer.
Are we killing our hair with kindness? • While scalp and haircare boom, we ask if a simple, stripped-back routine is actually better for your locks
Build your routine • Learn what your hair type needs and thank us later
