Loving Genesis Paints! Part 1

art beat

Woodlands Gallery • These feature pages are reserved for displaying the work of emerging and developing Australian artists; as well as other unknowns whose efforts may provide interest for our readers.

Enjoying her Art • In addition to her art being a wonderful hobby, Gail Thomas is delighted with the sense of camaraderie she shares with like-minded people.

Out for a Ride • This painting is a reflection of our farming lifestyle, as my daughter is going out the front gate for a ride on one of her horses. It is a simple picture, but with added colour and texture, and some added life, it makes a nice painting.

Fine Artist, Tutor and Art Judge • Pencils have always been a part of my life

Blue Wrens • When I have a pencil in my hand, drawing the details of a quirky animal or bird, I am totally happy, in a meditative, calm, state where time stands still. I love to draw, every day. I love the look of detailed drawings. If given a few moments to do anything I like, I choose to draw.

The Need to Create • Throughout her life, Marilyn Murray has amassed an amazing array of artistic experiences which, in her words, “acknowledge my soul’s desire for creativity.”

Wait for me Dad! • Marilyn’s grandson Joseph is the inspiration for this artwork. He’s pictured with his Dad, fishing at Nudgee Beach.

Christmas Buyers’ Guide Contributed • That special time of year is rapidly coming around again … the time when you want to find perfect gifts for all the creative people in your life. Or perhaps you would like to surprise yourself with something stunning for your very own studio. Here is a range of excellent choices from some of your favourite art materials suppliers.

Just do it! • Rosslyn explains her passion, “Most importantly, I intend to continue to share that which I have gleaned from art (and life), and really participate in and enjoy the life of an ‘emerging’ artist.”

Kick it to Me, Kick it to Me! • Adding in more emus is all part of the fun

The Call of Nature • “I am inspired to paint because I am inspired by the beauty of the world around me. There is a desire through my painting works to represent a moment in time in which I was truly amazed.”

Down From The Heavens Towards Milford Sound • The majesty of Milford Sound in New Zealand is powerfully portrayed in this painting.
