WHAT’S new • Our team of experts take a look at this month’s model releases, including fine handbuilt replicas, scale construction and the latest in farm models.

CORGI’S SPORTY FORD TRIO IS A REAL CROWD-PLEASER

993 GTs on R&T • Stephen Paul Hardy reflects on the fact that it is now almost a quarter of a century since the last air-cooled Porsche 911 generation bowed out, just as Diecast Collector was arriving on the scene.

Blue and green • Staying with the end-of-an-era Porsche theme, Stephen Paul Hardy heads further back in time with another Targa tale - this time from Schuco.

Petite et parfaite • It has been clear from Stephen Paul Hardy’s previous features that one of his soft spots is for models of classic Monte Carlo Rally cars, so how then does he rate one of OttOmobiles latest releases on that theme?

Born abroad • The Ford Escort RS MkII has lived many lives since its launch in the 1970s. Francisco Mota finds a group of these iconic rally cars that were not made in the UK, even if they were as genuine as they could be.

Doug McHard and the Somerville Bus • David Wright takes a bus ride full of memories.

Building Britain • Andrew Ralston examines the Highway Constructors, an often-overlooked series of roadbuilding equipment by Lone Star, and finds several other variations on the construction theme in earlier products of this fascinating company.

Some super horseplay • Brian Salter puts on his riding garb and goes for a trot.

Five peas in a pod • Paul Brent Adams jumps on the Matchbox No 5 bus for a journey through the years.

Australian limited editions PART TWO • Mike Pigott concludes his series on Australian Matchbox Superfast models, as we focus on the limited edition models produced between 1988 and 1992.

MG RV8 • David Lynn adds another chapter to his recent MGB articles with the tale of a final incarnation.

World Cup fever! • Mike Pigott looks back 40 years, at a pair of Corgi models released to commemorate the Football World Cup of 1982.

Desert Island Diecasts • Imagine you’re stranded on a remote island and had only taken a handful of your collection favourites on that fateful trip, which five would you want it to be? New Diecast Collector contributor, Laurence Price, is this month’s castaway hero.

Superfast 1969-1982 • Rick Wilson charts the evolution of the Matchbox Superfast range during the Lesney years, from 1969 to 1982.

A MINI GT Christmas • Never lost for things to talk about, Rick Wilson shares another selection from his collection.

Single Decker Bus • DTCA Chairman, Michael Driver, picks another vintage favourite by Dinky.
