Some body’s Sweaters • Several years ago, a hand specialist told me to stop knitting. My fingers suffered from tenosynovitis, additionally worsened by piano practice and computer typing. It took some time, but eventually a hand therapist said I could knit again with large needles—size 17 or bigger. Since I’m not partial to bulky yarns, my knitting future was bleak. I stopped knitting and began grieving.
