Hello from Jess

THE Knitter’s Picnic

Silky Slub LADDER SCARF • After purchasing these irresistible, bobbly, multi-coloured slub sock yarns and speckled rainbow sock yarn bundles I realised that they matched, providing the inspiration for this scarf pattern. I could turn that squishy handful of colours into something I could wear! Using a larger needle size gives a lovely silky drape to this knitted fabric. For those of you who would prefer a neutral toned scarf, a 100g skein each of slub yarn and coordinating sock yarn would look wonderful too.

Scrappy CUSHION • A quick and easy project for beginners! Make this cute scrappy cushion cover to use up your scraps or leftover yarn from other projects to minimise yarn waste and add some colour to your home.

I Bathe IN DIAMONDS • If you’re like me and hate having leftover yarn, I’ve included a bonus project at the end of this pattern to make matching scrubbies! They’re great for removing makeup or for a quick face clean.

The Market BAG • A gorgeous knit bag for a perfect summer day out!

Candy COWL • A colourful cowl that’s quick to knit and will brighten up any outfit!

Crossed SCARF • A scarf with an easy-to-follow lace eyelet pattern. The perfect project for a beginner!

KNITTING FOR A WorthyCause

Summerville Stroll SOCKS • The Summerville Stroll Socks are shorty socks worked from the cuff down with a pretty lace pattern on the instep. They are designed for summer, a delicate but functional sock to wear out and about when sandals or thongs just won’t make the cut. Inspired by walks in the local neighbourhood on summer evenings or walking to the local cafes to catch up with friends, the Summerville Stroll Socks reflect the beautiful greenery of my local area. The socks have a short cuff/leg designed to stay put even during the briskest walk. With a reinforced heel and simple lace upper, they are sure to become a summer favourite!

Lottie THE BABY AXOLOTL • Lottie the baby axolotl is a super cute and fun knitted toy, which is sure to make the perfect friend for any child. Lottie is knitted in the round using double pointed needles for a completely seamless knitting project. If you're an advanced beginner knitter looking to challenge yourself and learn new skills, Lottie is the perfect project for you!

Recycled Wool BEANIE

Feels Like SPRINGTIME • The smallest size of this beanie will fit a child from about 6 years. The flowers are made from cotton yarn as this gives them more body and provides a better finish when sewn on. Beads are optional and are added to the centre of some flowers for that extra sparkle, but they are not recommended if making the beanie for younger children.

WOODEN LADDERS • This project was inspired by the rustic wooden ladders used in the past by my grandfather and father, and which I have as part of the displays in my store. Using the gorgeous Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima Cotton, this easy, repeated lace pattern creates a scarf for those cooler summer and autumn evenings.

BATIK Oetoro

Winter Love NECK WARMER • The Winter Love Neck Warmer is perfect for layering with your favourite winter coat and keeping the chill away! It’s worked from the top down, starting with a folded collar and working increases to form the front and back panels and shoulders. This beginner design features a simple...
