Magazine

Established in 1994 and one of the world’s 25 oldest printed magazines, the sophisticated Gay Pages is the only gay glossy coffee table magazine in South Africa. It enjoys comprehensive national print distribution, reaching approximately 1600 outlets ranging from airport lounges, retail and 1400 mail boxes. This clean, presentable coffee table publication has a wide and diverse audience, while many premium brands advertise with us, as the affluent, brand loyal gay consumer segment is one of the most sought-after audiences globally. Our focus on writing reviews on travel, restaurants, cars, lifestyle and luxury products, whilst publishing gay content from all over the world, made us a household name and popular with local and international tourists from Japan to the USA. Our incredibly popular website has over 1000 articles (www.gaypagessa.co.za) and has tremendous reach, with more than 100 000 page views per month. We offer both print and online subscriptions.

T STANDS FOR TALENT • A wave of new artists has been pummelling the music industry and it is so easy for one to be inundated and as a result great musicians slip through one’s radar. One of these I have been blessed with in discovering is Mathew V, a twenty-two-year-old singer who not only glitters in pop music but also shines his brilliance in the classics.

BOOK REVIEWS

Grindr, grief and gay shame • Interview with author Wisani Mushwana

A truly important component of physical fitness is Motor Fitness • It is fostered simultaneously as you work to address the needs of the other components of fitness, such as cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance.

COMING OUT OF THE SHADOWS • When I was asked to write this article, the premise was to discuss Pride. My thoughts immediately went to what Pride has become. It is a celebration of being, a day where we display our splendid rainbow colours and allow our alter egos to take centre stage. We plan for the day and I’m sure the airtime providers make a fortune with the calls, WhatsApps, and facetimes where outfits and logistics for the day are discussed ad nauseum.

BRIAN HIRSCHBERG

Searching for LOVE Night clubs, intro clubs and sex clubs – from the 80s to now! • The eighties saw one of the most divine decades in terms of human bonding with virtually no inhibition. Clubs and parties were pumping almost everywhere with cutting edge technology that did not exist in two equally wild decades...
