Having a Field Day - Western Style • It's been a while since we caught up with the adventures of the Worcester Royal Grammar School Rail Enthusiasts’ Society, but in cataloguing some old photographs recently, the author came across some images taken on a couple of local trips in 1982.
The Tramway Twins • It is now over 40 years since the two lowest TOPS numbered locomotives were cut up, without ceremony, in a stone shed at the end of an isolated quarry tramway, on a small island off the north west coast of Wales, and still in their original BR Black livery. They were the TOPS Class 01 shunters, used in the ‘70s to move rock from quarries on Holy Island for use along the Holyhead harbour breakwater.
WELSH WAGON WORKS • This portable industrial scene, inspired by the wagon repair works in Radstock, Somerset, allowed its builder to showcase his collection of small tank locomotives.
