PAUL WALTON • Jaguar’s prewar legacy

CRAIG CHEETHAM • A shift in tastes

KEITH HELFET • The unexpected consequences of the XK180

Family affair • As two-door coupes built at a time when Ford owned both companies, the Jaguar XK8 and Aston Martin DB7 Vantage have much in common. But with one being a high volume model powered by a V8 and the other produced in tiny numbers with a V12, these were very different models. So which of these sports cars do we prefer?

BEST OF BOTH • With a previous owner wanting an XK150 for long distance touring, this 1959 fixedhead coupe was slowly updated, culminating with the original 3.4-litre unit being swapped for a modern 4.0-litre V8. The result is a useable, fast but still classic feeling car

THE X FACTOR • Every so often we come across a car that really is special. And this car is arguably as close to a brand new X-TYPE as you will find

PRIDE OF LYONS • After being personally ordered by William Lyons for a friend, this early SS Jaguar 100 was immediately entered into the Monte Carlo Rally. Now with a new and famous owner, we look at the unique history of this remarkable car

RESPLENDENT 420G LIVING FAR FROM HOME • It cannot be said that Jaguar 420Gs are as rare as hens teeth, but they were never numerous and now good examples are even harder to find. But here we have a wonderful example, the personal choice of the ex-Lord Mayor of Adelaide

THE WORLD’S BEST SELLING INDEPENDENT JAGUAR MAGAZINE
