Floral Symphony No 2 acquired by National Quilt Museum, USA • Since taking out the Best of Show, Excellence in Appliqué and First Prize in the Mainly Appliqué (Professional) category at the 2023 Victorian Showcase quilt exhibition, Mariya Waters’ sensational quilt, Floral Symphony No 2, has travelled overseas and garnered further accolades. The quilt was one of five that won a ‘Purchase Award’ at Paducah QuiltWeek and it was consequently donated to the National Quilt Museum of Paducah, Kentucky.

Whimsical Flowers • This medallion-style quilt incorporates a few techniques in a whimsical, bright, fantasy style. A lot of the quilt is constructed with foundation piecing and machine appliqué using fusible web. Red Expressions • Queensland Quilters has been exhibiting members’ works through a juried exhibition called STATE of the ART Quilt Exhibition (SOTA) since 2009. Subsequently, SOTA has featured between 20 and 30 quilts annually, with a strong representation of the talents of Queensland Quilters’ members.

Who’s a Pretty Boy? • This quilt was made for a Queensland Quilters' Challenge. Lorraine used a technique she developed called mosaic hand appliqué. This has been done by hand with needleturn appliqué, however, you could modify it to machine appliqué or raw-edge appliqué.
