MANU SHAPES TOFO • Ding repair is atime-tested gateway into full-blown surfboard shaping, and both are essential to a thriving surf culture. Manuel Augusto Nhamussua is planting these skills in the Tofo surf community.

SURF É VIDA • SINCE THE END OF THE CIVIL WAR IN 1992, THE ONLY SURFERS IN PONTA DO OURO HAVE BEEN A SMALL CREW OF SAFFA EX-PATS, MOZAMBICAN BLOW-INS FROM MAPUTO, AND THE STEADY STREAM OF SURF TRAVELLERS FROM SOUTH OF THE BORDER.
