Welcome to the Winter 2023 edition! • This is an Editor’s letter quite like no other and one that I write with a heavy heart. It’s with great sadness that I announce that this will be the last ever monthly edition of Dolls House & Miniature Scene.

Miniature gonk cake • This Christmas we’ll be sculpting a bit of woodland magic through this miniature tree stump cake with two gonks with long candy cane socks sitting idly on top! This cake also sees vertical sponge layers and a naked top to evoke the age rings on a tree.

Mary Poppins’ accessories • Mary Poppins sure knew how to pack a bag! While none of us may be quite that talented, this bag really does hold a lot. Popular during the 19th and early 20th Centuries, variations on this construction might be made from anything from oriental carpet to leather, canvas to woolen tweed, or even plaid. I couldn’t resist also making Mary Poppins’ famous ‘talking’ parrot umbrella and her very proper, daisy trimmed hat to accompany the carpet bag!
