BEN TOWNLEY'S EPIC DIRTWORLD PUKEMARA • A couple of skippys abroad… Dirt Action's Damien Adams recently took a well-earned trip away with his mates to experience Ben Townley's epic DirtWorld Pukemara, a dirtbiker's dream set in the heart of the North Island, New Zealand. We hit him up for a report on his return.

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH ‘GOOD TIMES GARRY’ • We all go to the races to watch our heroes battle for glory. We cheer them on, have a great time with our friends watching the action unfold, and then we go back home to our daily grind without too much thought about what goes on behind the scenes. There's the team managers, mechanics, truck drivers, event organisers, track builders — the list goes on. For this issue we caught up with KTM racing's Head of Hospitality, Garry ‘Good Times’ Blizzard, to chat about his role at the races and what it's like cooking for a big team like KTM and its factory racers.

THE BETA E-KINDER RANGE!

NAILED IT! • Lighter, sharper and more advanced is the mantra for Yamaha's 2024-model YZ250F. For a decade, this bike has proved to be one of the most dominating 250 four-strokes on the market. So why radically change a good thing, is the question asked by many? We got a chance to ride the all-new YZ250F a few days after it landed down under to evaluate these changes and to find out whether the updates are a step forward.

A WORD FROM CHAMP DEAN FERRIS • WATCHING DEAN FERRIS RIP THE MX FARM TRACK WAS ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY. HE SURE MADE THE YZ250F SING. WHEN HE JUMPED OFF THE BIKE AFTER A 20-MINUTE MOTO HE WAS GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR, AND THE FIRST WORDS THAT CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH WERE, “IF I COULD GET MY 450F TO TURN LIKE THIS, I'D BE GONE!” SO WE HAD TO ASK HIM WHAT HE THOUGHT OF THE ALL-NEW MODEL.

INSIGHT FROM DARREN THOMPSON • DARREN THOMPSON IS YAMAHA'S NATIONAL SERVICE MANAGER AND HAS BEEN A LONG-TIME MECHANIC FOR THE BRAND. HE HAS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WHEN IT COMES TO WORKING ON PREVIOUS YZ250F MODELS, SO WE ASKED HIM WHAT POSITIVE CHANGES HE WAS HAPPY ABOUT ON THE 2024 MODEL.

ITALIAN FLAIR 2024 BETA RR LAUNCH • When talking value for money, it's hard to go past Beta Motorcycles' RR Enduro range as they sit well under the RRP of their closest competitor. From Beta's RR 125 two-stroke to the RR480 Thumper, as well as the versatile X-Trainer models, there's a total of 10 machines to choose from. We recently tested the 2024 RR and X-Trainer models to get a better understanding of which bike suits which rider best.

NOT DEAD YET • Dean Ferris is older, wiser, faster, and at 33 years of age, the four-time Australian ProMX champion proved once again in 2023 he still has the speed to keep on winning championships. From retirement to clawing his way back to the top of the sport, Ferris has had to dig deep and suffer the lows that come with the highs. Dirt...
