THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW • Ever wondered what happened to some of the more famous faces to grace the pages of DA over the past 250 issues? Wonder no more.

BLU REUNION • Yamaha says the latest WR250F enduro bike is way more YZ250F motocross inspired than ever before. But does that make it less suited to good ol’ pie-eating and beer-swilling Aussie trail warriors? We had to try one to find out.

TUNNEL VISION • If you're going to take a shiny new MY23 Husqvarna FE 501 Heritage Edition enduro bike and turn it into a serious lightweight ‘Rallye’ bike, it pays to do it right. And in a world of 200kg-plus rally-cum-ADV bikes, this is a case of light sure is right.

TANTILISING • Who says you need to follow the traditional path of being a junior MX champ, then an MX2 champ, to make it big in the prestigiuos MX1 category of Australian ProMX racing? Not Aaron Tanti — he's the reigning MX1 champ and he got there his way.

MY THAI SLIDE • Rides to remember don't come any more loaded with good times and mad shenanigans than a week-long blaze through northern Thailand with the eccentric crew known as the Jerkyls. What a tour!

THE HIGH LIFE • Riding destinations don't come much more spectacular than the High Country of Victoria. When the 2022 KTM Adventure Rallye could finally go ahead after the original date was washed out, a rip-roaring 1,500km over five days was on the agenda for the most passionate of KTM fans. And right there in the midst of the action was master lensman Danny Wilkinson to caputre all the magic moments.

SUPERCROSS SURVIVOR • While Aussie guns Hunter and Jett Lawrence swept all before them in the 250cc East and West categories, the premier 450cc class of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series became a case of last man standing takes the spoils. In the end, it was Chase Sexton who captured the coveted crown and gave Honda its first 450 SX championship in 20 years.

MOROCCAN ROCKING • When it's been three long years since a factory race team tapped you on the shoulder to fly halfway around the world to race their latest factory bike, what do you say? If you're Aussie rally ace Rod Faggotter, you say, “Hell yeah, I'm dropping everything. I'll be there!”

PEDAL TO THE METAL • With the explosion in popularity of electric mountain bikes, it's surprising it's taken so long for motorcycle manufacturers to get in on the action, as the crossover between dirtbikes and e-MTBs is so obvious. But here they come, and Yamaha is first cab off the rank in Australia with the arrival of its new YDX Moro 07.
