Welcome…
This month I’m…
This Cake Life • Cake inspiration, product reviews, news, views and more…
FARMYARD FRIENDS • Lots of children love a visit to the farm, so bringing their favourite animals to life through cake will make their day! These cakesicles are perfect for parties and great for honing your character modelling skills.
STUNNING SUGAR FLOWERS • Follow our step by steps to make this striking anemone, placing it against the mint green cake to not only make it pop but also create a beauty for spring.
BABY BUNNY • The little bunny would make a wonderful addition to a new baby cake, a Christening at Easter time or a spring 1st birthday – simply remove the modelled eggs!
The Cake Professionals 3 secrets of successful cake consultations: Part 1 • We continue our monthly slice of honest and (hopefully!) helpful cake business discussion. At The Cake Professionals, we want to see cake businesses (and their owners!) flourishing. It’s a challenging time, so take this time to brush up on any elements you are unsure off
BACK IN TIME • Each month self-taught cake creator Heena Mistry is working on a new project recreating some of our favourite archive CD&S tutorials, to test them and show you how truly easy they are to make. This issue, Heena uses the step by steps from the July 2021 issue to make these incredibly pretty floral hoop cookies which were featured in a book extract, ‘A Year in Cake’ by Peggy Porschen.
PRETTY PASTELS • Use a mixture of buttercream techniques including crumb coating, palette knife painting to make a watercolour effect and piping to create this pastel beauty for any occasion.

For a safer solution on my cakes, I often use silicone mould putty, create the food safe mould using the toy and then you can be 100% sure. There are lots of food safe putties available.”
SWEET TREATS AND GIFTS • Each month Zoe is going to be sharing with you delicious sweet treats which would be perfect for gifting, favours or even as dessert table fillers - all linked to seasons and events in the year. We will be delving into homemade sticky sweets, chocolates, confections and more, always with an eye on how they can be turned into presentable gifts.
THE CONFIDENT CAKER… Why starting a baking biz is like having a baby • If you want the confidence and clarity to ‘go pro’ with your baking, join Bell The Sugarcraft Contessa as she puts ‘mind over batter’ with practical techniques to master your mindset, manage your emotions and take you where you REALLY want to go.
GRAVITY DEFYING! • “A simple structure elevates this Easter egg cake offthe ground and is finished with a big blousy bow and an adorable vintage style bunny. It’s the perfect...
