D821: Preservation pioneer • This year sees the diesel preservation movement celebrate the 50th anniversary of Class 42 diesel hydraulic D821 Greyhound being bought from British Rail, making the Warship the first ex-British Railways main line diesel locomotive to be secured for preservation.
