Old Glory is Britain’s best-selling magazine for steam and vintage machinery enthusiasts. Its blend of news, rally reports, exclusive features and archive material has provided inspiration for new restoration projects as well as giving readers a rare look at some old favourites.
FORGOTTEN NIPPY REAPPEARS • Seen just after the torn sheets were removed is 1926 Aveling & Porter 6 ton tractor No. 11705 Nippy before it was moved to Reeman Dansie’s sale building at Highwoods, Colchester, Essex. The engine was last rallied in the 1990s and looks to need a full rebuild and refresh in many ways. It went on to sell for an amazing £115,544 on Friday 11 November - see Market Place for more details.

Happy New Year!
CUGNOT’S FARDIER À VAPEUR STARS AT CAUSSADE • The first steam road vehicle in the world was created in 1770 by French army captain Nicolas Joseph Cugnot. He didn’t find much fame and fortune from his invention 252 years ago, but if he was alive now it would be certainly different. Having seen one of the two replicas in action at Locomotion Caussade over 22-23 October one can only be impressed with his amazing FIRST in the world says the editor.
