Il existe plusieurs méthodes d'enseignement du français, qui varient fortement en fonction de l'objectif recherché et du niveau des élèves par classe./French is the second most studied foreign language in the American education system, just behind Spanish. There are several different types of French language instruction, all of which vary in important ways, from the programs’ educational goals to the linguistic make-up of the student body.

Aux États-Unis, les élèves francophones ont le choix entre cinq types de diplômes: le high school diploma américain, le baccalauréat français, l’option internationale du baccalauréat français, le baccalauréat international et le baccalauréat franco-américain./In France, students in première and terminale (11th and 12th grade) take baccalaureate exams. Francophone students in the United States, however, can choose from five types of diplomas: the American high school diploma, the French baccalaureate, the international option of the French baccalaureate, the international baccalaureate, and the French-American baccalaureate.
